Egyptian Swiss Maintains 15% Share of Egypt’s Flour Exports and 10% of Pasta Exports

The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling and Concentrates has expanded into 13 new markets this year, bringing the total number of countries receiving the group’s products to more than 60 worldwide, as part of a strategy aimed at boosting exports and diversifying its overseas markets. The group is also planning to enter the Chinese market in the coming period.
Ahmed Sebaie, General Manager of the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling and Concentrates, said the latest expansion covered the group’s various products, including pasta, flour and tomato sauce, and spanned markets across Europe, Africa, Asia, North America and Latin America, strengthening the geographical diversification of exports and reducing reliance on a limited number of markets.
Sebaie said the group successfully introduced its tomato sauce products to Romania, Greece, France and Zambia for the first time, as part of efforts to expand the international presence of its concentrates and sauces business, alongside increasing exports of value-added products.
He added that flour exports also expanded this year, with the group entering the Comoros market as part of a strategy to strengthen its footprint across Africa, one of the key markets for Egyptian food products, particularly flour and pasta.
The pasta segment accounted for the largest share of the new markets, with the group successfully exporting to eight additional countries: Sweden, South Africa, Indonesia, Canada, Cuba, Cameroon, Mali and Bahrain.
Sebaie said the diversity of the new markets across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas reflects the group’s strategy over the past five years to build a broader and more diversified export base, helping strengthen its ability to respond to shifts in global markets and international trade flows.
He added that the group has intensified its focus on exports in recent years, expanding its presence across a wide range of markets in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America, supported by the competitiveness of Egyptian products and their ability to meet the varying standards and requirements of overseas markets.
Sebaie said the group maintained a strong share of Egypt’s exports during the first half of 2026, accounting for around 15% of the country’s total flour exports and about 10% of pasta exports, highlighting the group’s significant position in both sectors and its competitiveness in international markets.
Egypt’s total flour exports reached around 389,000 tonnes in the first half of this year, valued at $130.9 million.
Egypt’s pasta exports also reached around 112,800 tonnes during the first half of the year, valued at $62.4 million.
The group is targeting entry into the Chinese market in the coming period as part of plans to expand its presence in Asia, particularly given the significant opportunities the market offers for food products.
The move also forms part of the company’s efforts to diversify its export destinations and avoid concentrating overseas sales in specific geographical regions.
The current expansion builds on the rapid growth of the group’s exports in recent years. Egyptian Swiss products reached more than 40 countries in 2025 before the group gradually expanded its export footprint to more than 60 countries this year.
The group has also recorded strong export growth in recent years, alongside rising demand from African markets and its entry into new destinations across Asia, Europe and Latin America, prompting it to place greater emphasis on exports as one of the main pillars of its growth strategy.
Egyptian Swiss supports its international expansion with a production base covering pasta, milling and concentrates, as well as wheat storage silos, enabling the group to secure its raw material requirements and increase the flexibility of its production and export operations.
Over the past several years, the group has continued to invest in expanding its production capacity amid growing domestic and international demand, with plans to add new pasta and milling production lines and increase factory operating capacity, supporting its strategy to boost exports in the coming years.
Egyptian Swiss began operations in 1995 through the trading of grains and flour before expanding into manufacturing by establishing mills in Borg El Arab and 10th of Ramadan City. It later added pasta and concentrates production, becoming one of the companies operating across several segments of the food industry.
In the coming period, the group is banking on expanding the presence of its products in overseas markets and increasing its footprint in destinations with strong demand, while capitalizing on trade agreements linking Egypt with a number of African, Arab and international markets to support export growth and enhance the global competitiveness of Egyptian food products.
