EFG Holding, a financial institution with a universal bank in Egypt and the leading investment bank in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), announced that it has obtained the ISO 14001 certification for Environmental Management for 2026, marking another important milestone in the Group’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, compliance, and operational excellence.
The certification builds on EFG Holding’s achievement of the ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety in 2025, reflecting the Group’s continued efforts to strengthen its management systems, safeguard its people, and advance its environmental and sustainability practices across its operations.
ISO 14001 provides a structured framework for identifying and managing environmental impacts, ensuring compliance with applicable environmental requirements, and driving continuous improvement in environmental performance. The certification reinforces EFG Holding’s approach to integrating environmental considerations into its operations and strengthening its commitment to responsible business practices.
Mohammed Saleh, Head of Administration and Facilities at EFG Holding, said, “Achieving ISO 14001 certification is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to strengthen our management systems and advance our environmental responsibility. Following our ISO 45001 certification last year, this achievement reflects the steady work we are doing to upgrade our systems, safeguard our people, and continuously improve the way we operate.”
Amr Ahmed Abdelaal, Senior Security Manager at EFG Holding, said, “The certification strengthens our environmental management system by providing a structured approach to identifying environmental impacts, implementing effective controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable requirements. It also supports our culture of continuous improvement and reinforces our commitment to responsible and sustainable operations.”
The ISO 14001 certification complements EFG Holding’s broader compliance, health and safety, and operational excellence initiatives, offering employees, investors, regulators, and business partners assurance that the Group is committed to internationally recognized environmental management practices and the continuous improvement of its environmental performance.
